MANGO FRUIT JELLY

Mango Fruit Jelly | Mango Fruit Leather Recipe | Aam Papad Recipe

In this season I decided to keep it simple and make mango fruit leather or Aam papad. Traditionally it is made during the mango season in peak summer months when the sun is literally at his scorching best let us make some delicious Mango Fruit jelly to savour the flavour of summer...!!!

Mango Fruit Jelly (Aam Papad)


Ingredients


  • Raw / unripe mango - 750 gm (washed, peeled, deseeded)
  • Sugar - 100 gm
  • Red chilli powder - 1/3 tsp
  • Chat masala powder - 1/3 tsp
  • Black salt - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • Ghee / oil - 1 tbsp


Instructions:


  1. Put all the mango slices in a pressure cooker.
  2. Add cup of water to it and cook for one whistle on high flame.
  3. After one whistle, turn off the flame and let it cool down.
  4. Then strain them in a strainer so that the fibres are removed. Then blend it to make smooth pulpy.
  5. Turn on the flame and heat a pan add the mango pulp in a pan.
  6. Add sugar and mix well (until it dissolves).
  7. Add red chilli powder, black salt, chat masala powder and salt then mix well.
  8. Cook it for 10 minutes on low flame ( keep stirring until it becomes thick).
  9. Meanwhile, grease a plate with ghee or oil.
  10. Pour the mixture into the greased plate and spread evenly (thin).
  11. Keep it under the sunlight for 2 -3 days (under the fan for 5 days).
  12. Gently remove the edges and lift it.
  13. Cut it into desired shape.
  14. Mango fruit jelly is ready.


Notes:

Store it in air tight container and can be used upto 1 - 2 months.
